Stylianos Mystakidis holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece. He is a Certified Course Designer and Trainer in E-learning by the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), Spain.
Stylianos is also a Certified Virtual Worlds Expert from the University of Washington, Seattle USA. There he lead his team to design and develop an award-winning Immersive Learning Environment (Maya Island) and emerged as the 2011 Class Speaker.
Currently Stylianos works as E-learning & Virtual Worlds Specialist in the University of Patras and teaches as Adjunct Faculty in the European Master in E-learning at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). He serves also as University of Washington’s Virtual Worlds Certificate Program Teaching Assistant.
Stylianos is a member of global expert group that developed the international quality label for e-learning courseware, epprobate. Recently he was appointed member of the Steering Committee of the Virtual Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Nordic Virtual Worlds Network (NVWN).
Stylianos has worked as instructional designer, courseware developer and facilitator of e-learning & blended learning courses for the government and corporate sector. He has also extensive development and administration experience of content management systems (CMS), e-learning platforms (LMS/VLE) and social software.
In the past he has served as President or board member of international NGOs. He is also the CEO of iTrain, an e-learning solutions consulting company.
